☀ About Melbourne's Public Transport Gallery
Bringing you top quality public transport content for all rail fans.
Melbourne's Public Transport Gallery is a place for transport enthusiasts from Melbourne and around the world. I aim to provide a safe, happy and educational place for people of all ages and abilities. Here I will host a great range of content for you to enjoy. These include photographs, video clips, cartoon illustrations and much more. Our work consists of 5 major components: Website, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Flickr. So there is something for everyone. Recently in an attempt to connect the rail community of Australia even more I have started a Google+ community (link: https://plus.google.com/communities/102516791717976611791). This is a place where anyone can join to share their videos, photos and start discussions. This gallery was established in late 2012 under the name of "HMT Melbourne's Public Transport Gallery" with first component being a Facebook page. Next came my YouTube channel. From there I expanded rapidly and then this website was created to be the home for this gallery and all fellow enthusiasts. Flickr was then adopted into the chain to allow easier photo browsing. Finally an Instagram account was created to share even more photographs. However the Instagram component of MPTG is less formal and something I use to connect with the community letting them know me better and more about my life besides just transport. Early 2014 I decided to change the name of this gallery to "Melbourne's Public Transport Gallery". It has been an interesting adventure running this gallery, throughout the process I have had a lot of fun times and met great people. I hope you enjoy my work and I would like to welcome you to the community. Melbourne's Public Transport Gallery - 2015 ☀ About me
I started Melbourne's Public Transport Gallery in August 2012.
Hello. I have had a love and passion for trains, mainly Melbourne's Suburban electric trains since a very young age. Living close to the railway line and being able to see the passing trains clearly from the living room window may be accounted for my growing interest. My love for trains grew by the day as public transport became a frequent method of travelling for me and my family, daily commute to Noble Park for kindergarten, going to the doctors, going shopping etc. As life went on my passion expanded to trams and then to buses in early 2012. Being a university student now I am now able to enjoy the daily commute to and from university by train and bus. I got his first compact digital camera in 2008 and have started collecting photographs of Melbourne's public transport and stations. In 2011 I bought a new HD camcorder, this is how I gathers videos which can now be viewed on my YouTube channel. With all this content that had been capture over the years, I decided to share them on-line with the rest of the community. In mid 2012 I started a Facebook page to share photos and other public transport related content. Shortly I stared my YouTube account which hosts full length clips, short clips and random clips which which finds interesting and hoping others do too. Not long after this website was created to become the central point for all of my content. Early this year in 2013 a Flickr Gallery was created to cater for the photographs that has been collected over the years. I have now extended to other forms of social media such as Twitter and Instagram. Join me on Instagram to lean more about PT an also about me personally By the way, I am not a photographer, nor do I have an interest in becoming one either. I just merrily want to capture images for my collection so they can be used by myself and other people now and in the future. ☀ More information

5) Vandalism removal and the attempts
In most of the photographs on this site, I have attempted to blur out noticeable vandalism by blurring or smudging them out, while try to retain the original aspects of the image(s). The reason for undertaking these actions were to remove any promotion towards the disgusting trash of vandalism and to share a feeling that it is not appreciated within our society.
In several cases the vandalism may have not been removed from the images due to multiple reasons which include: unnoticed, difficult to remove without affecting the quality of the image etc 6) Acknowledgements
Many a times, train listing numbers used for photograph captions and video captions were put together using sources such as the train listing from vicsig.net (very limited usage; as of early 2013, this list was no longer used by the gallery) and other sources from the internet.
